About Newfoundland and Labrador

Perched on the eastern edge of North America in the cold North Atlantic Ocean, Newfoundland and Labrador is surrounded by over 29,000 kilometres of dramatic coastline. Our coasts, swept by frigid Arctic currents, are teeming with sea life and breathtaking beauty. Rugged vistas. Whales and Seabirds. 10,000 year old icebergs.

But it also makes for the perfect environment for seafood. That same cold, clean water allows the 30+ unique species of fish and seafood that we harvest and farm here to grow slower. And taste better.

Pristine and cold clean water means high-quality taste – that’s our cold ocean best.

Our People

Newfoundland and Labrador’s economy was built on the fishery and continues to be an integral part of our economy today. With a long history in this sector, it’s safe to say experience is on our side.

Our fishery remains a vital way of life and a source of pride, rooted in the tradition of making a living at sea. Today, over 17,000 dedicated individuals in the province are employed in the fishery. Our skilled seafood harvesters, farmers, and processors are the backbone of the industry, braving the elements each year to bring delicious Newfoundland and Labrador seafood to plates around the world.

Always evolving, the traditions of the past have laid a foundation for the innovative, modern, and sustainable industry we have today.

And we’re just getting started.
